Chad Fabry
I need someone to perform a radon test for a client in Hamburg, NY. Tom Raymond, do you do that?
Erby
I'd do it for a couple of grand. It's only 500 miles and I could hang out at Niagara Falls during the test. But, if Tom doesn't, here is where you can find someone that might. http://nrpp.info/measurement_template/NY.shtml
Chad Fabry
Thanks Erby, I was hoping to get one of the brethren, but if that doesn't work, I'll use the list.
Tom Raymond
I have done 2 radon tests with canisters. If they want to pay $50 to overnight the kits both ways and another $100 for me to set em, I'm game. I'm in hamburg almost every day. Or they can go to the Depot and get their own, under $20 last I looked. Don't count on getting a report in a timely fashion, I've seen them take weeks. John Dirks Jr
Chad, is there a need for fast result? You could get an alpha track kit from RSSI and run it for 7 days. Then send it to the lab. Lab takes about a week. $25 These kits are best for long term but can be run for a minimum of 7 days if so desired. http://rssi.us/radon.htm
Chad Fabry
John, the house is 90 miles from me and I have a long history of not doing radon tests. Tom, I suggested cannisters as an option and she wasn't interested.
Tom Raymond
That would have been #3 in 6 years. I have no interest in buying equipment for that kind of volume. I'd rather not do them.
John Dirks Jr
Suggest the rssi alpha track for a long term test. Have them DIY. It's easy.
