Chad Fabry
I have a facebook account for StructureSmart. The weird thing is, it's liked by a bunch of what I think are fake users in Algiers. What purpose could 50 or 60 foreign people have in my page ( or one person acting as 50 or 60) ?
kurt
Maybe they think you're cute.

Tom Breslawski
I saw something on this the other day. Apparently Facebook will sell you advertising designed to increase your page "likes." There is a group of people/businesses bring a class action suit against them because they claim that the "likes" that they paid for were mostly from fake accounts from the Middle East. I'll try to find the link to the article.
Chad Fabry
I haven't purchased any advertising. In "settings" though, you can choose what countries can see your page. I just limited mine to the USA and Canada.
kurt
What about all those folks in Kazakhstan that are StructureSmart fans? You're just cutting them off?
Chad Fabry
What about all those folks in Kazakhstan that are StructureSmart fans? You're just cutting them off? Ruthless and inconsiderate, right?
Neal Lewis
They're going to use that profile photo and put it on Tinder []
Michael Brown
Fake likes for advertisers would be found out pretty quickly if they didn't also make fake likes on non advertisers sites.
Jim Baird
...very funny. Come to think of it "fake likes" are very common in the ordinary conduct of communication by whatever means, verdad?

Jim Baird
Thanks, Ben. I had some jokers from England posting wisecracks on my fb page. I figured out how to delete them, but first pm'd them to offer to inspect whatever they wanted in their area if only they would pay my time and travel expense on top of the fee.
