hausdok Posted March 20, 2008 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is considering new green building codes that would become the most stringent in the country. If the codes are approved, they could eventually cut carbon dioxide emissions by 60,000 tons. Mayor Gavin Newsom has promised to sign the code into law. "Many people don't realize that buildings have a big carbon footprint, and this will help reduce the size of that footprint." Sounds more like a political statement than a building code. Don't get me wrong now, I am all for conservation and lower pollution. I just believe that the whole global warming thing is more about politics than anything else.
