When a new roof covering gets installed, is it worth while to trim the siding to make it stand off? I know it should be installed that way to begin with. I was wondering how difficult it would be to correct it now that it is already installed. This siding was just beginning to rot at the edges where its meets the roof. Bill Kibbel Posted August 9, 2008 Report Share Posted August 9, 2008 It can be trimmed. I did a nice job on a previous home with a cordless circular saw. I didn't even cut through the step flashings.
