hausdok
Background: Anyone that's ever been stationed in Northern Germany can tell you that it's like one huge flat tabletop and tends to get a bit windy. Here's a Lufthansa A320-200 on final approach to Hamburg international airport's runway 23 in a strong crosswind. I'll bet you a bunch of passengers had to change their undershorts after this attempt. Click Here! ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Terence McCann
What's really surprising about that video is that the 320 is able to land CAT III. A CAT III landing is a fully automated landing from descent to intercepting the glide scope to flare, roll out, reverse thrusters and brakes. The CAT III is to be used in very poor weather conditions. I'm sure the pilot had a lot of explaining to do once he touched down. This is a good video of a MD-11 with a CAT III landing - [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKtHO-7oB7E" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="344">
Erby
Your pilot just needed a little more skill to set her down like this one did!
