elgato
The sellers said that they had a small leak in a radiator pipe. They fixed it, and refinished the floor. All is well........then I made my way to the crawlspce. Click to Enlarge 84.79 KB
Scottpat
That is another good reason not to put plastic up on the joist, instead of the ground!
Mike Lamb
Was all of the water isolated in this area? Condensation, not a plumbing leak, could account for gallons of water. As Scott intimates, plastic under the joists is a hugely bad idea.
AHI in AR
I can't see how condensation would account for that amount of moisture under the floor. In fact, I would say that it can't. It's hard to imagine that the flooring was laying flat unless the refinishing was very, very recent. The absurd amount of moisture present under the flooring would cause a floor to swell, leaving a concave surface on the top side.
Mike Lamb
I have seen absurd amounts of water sitting on plastic in a crawl space. All from condensation. It's a wrinkle that shouldn't be discounted. I was wondering if the water was isolated.
