Ken Meyer
Is this heat duct insulation considered a combustible material? The combined furnace/water heater exhaust flue is almost touching it, but I could see no sign of damage from heat. John Dirks Jr
Just curious but how far from the furnace and water heater is this contact point?
Brandon Whitmore
If it is not classified as non- combustible material, then it should have proper clearances (1"). I doubt that the stuff in the picture is classified as non- combustible. I'd write it up, state my case, and if they could prove otherwise so be it. Ken Meyer
Just curious but how far from the furnace and water heater is this contact point? Between 5 and 6 feet. I'll include it in the report as Brandon suggested, better safe than sorry.
