  1. Foil type material covering the under-floor area of a home built in 1949. Click to Enlarge 49.46 KB
  2. Had this panel yesterday. On the handle it states Federal Pacific. On the label, it states Stab-Lok. However, nothing about this panel looks like an FPE/Stab-Lok. There were two Stab-Lok breakers, but that was it. Is it an FPE/Stab-Lok panel? Click to Enlarge 39.88 KB Click to Enlarge 45.97 KB Click to Enlarge 64.26 KB
  3. Does anyone know of a study or has studied, the time it takes for OSB sheathing to rot when there is a leak present. Size of the leak in this case, would be about the size of a pencil eraser. Click to Enlarge 65.2 KB
  4. I don't think I could do without my Chev Avalanche. They have the only seats that are comfortable for me. Mileage isn't to bad.
  5. In the basement of a home built in 1927. Can't say I have seen this type of "outlet"? Click to Enlarge 46.94 KB
  6. Has anyone seen this type of tie down for a manufactured home? Built in 1984. I can't recall ever seeing the chain link style tie down before.. Click to Enlarge 35.16 KB
  7. That's funny. My client, the wife half any way, was the first to go in there when the smell began(I had the shower going while I checked the rest of the room). I came around the corner, and she looked mortified. I gave her a look that was like "is that you", and you could just see her scrambling to explain that it wasn't. Very funny. Anyway, there was a hallway bathroom and no odor from any of the faucets.
  8. No heater in the fan Gary.
  9. One outlet/fixture Ben. Master bath shower.
  10. New construction home. Electric water heater. I am sure that we have all experienced that ridiculous smell at the fixtures when an anod rod goes out. That smell, was at one fixture(master bath shower). Could it be a bacteria issue with the branch line feeding the shower head?
  11. I recommend a second opinion. If the heat exchanger is that "brittle" that they could put a finger through it, time for a new one.
  12. Could that be a 7 instead of a 1 in the MN? If so, 68-69 time frame.
  13. No to both.
  14. I use Roam X and it is 1.7% per transaction. 24-48 hour turn around time.
  15. Damn it. My English skills were a bit off. Thanks for the explanation Kurt. Here i thought I was missing a technical venting issue;)
  16. WTH is a knotty venting issue?
  17. I have been seeing those alot around here with D.R. Horton newly built homes. Seems to be working fine.
  18. I see LP siding regularly around here. The LP lawsuit era was between 1989-1996 with final payouts in 2002. Do you have a hi res pic of the one from a distance? If you do, send it to me via e-mail and I might be able to give you a more positive ID. Either way, it's blown and will need to be replaced.
  19. "Louisiana Pacific" or "LP" (Inner Seal) Siding is installed on the exterior of this home. Composite wood sidings are made from various combinations of wood veneers, fibers or flakes, bound together with glues, resins, and/or waxes. They come with different names, LP siding, T1-11, Plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), and hardboard are basic engineered wood siding materials.
  20. That is an awesome find!
  21. Looks like soap.
  22. Was there other wood nearby that might have been in contact with the soil?
  23. As always, thanks Jim. It was a Carrier, located in a crawl space. Wonder why the tech wouldn't call it for repair/replacement. I will in my report.
  24. Had an inspection today, on the furnace, was a label that indicated service recently. As a part of the service description, the technician made a comment that there was a "dimple" crack in the exchanger behind the high temp limit. Can't say that I have ever heard that terminology before. I know what I typically say when there is a crack in the exchanger. Is "dimple" not a replaceable offense?
  25. I see quite a bit of the Pabco shingles, from the mid 90's, that have that issue.
