Wasn't thinking straight about the siphoning? How would that protect against overflow? Do you mean overflow at the standpipe or at the washer? At the washer, if the discharge valve was stuck open and water continued to try fill the bowl. For fun I went to the GE site and they only mention 30" minimum, no maximum stated. http://products.geappliances.com/ApplPr ... TWN4250DWS NOTE: If drain hose facility does not meet 30" minimum height requirement, thread drain hose through supplied anti-siphon clip U and mount to cabinet back as shown
-
Just thinking, shouldn't the top of the standpipe be below the top of the washing bowl, for overflow protection?
-
So the trap might be above the washer? Then you have to worry about siphoning. I think they're doing it 1. for convenience, 2. Possibly there is standard for length of discharge hose.
-
Trap at: 6" + 30" = 36" Trap at: 18" + 18" = 36"
-
Run an extension on the vent, if the regulator manufacturer allows it.
-
UPC only allows one trap per trap arm.

Good memory Bill, I don't think CA has ever allowed the high loop installation. CPC 2013 807.4 Domestic Dishwashing Machine. Listed air gaps shall be installed with the flood-level (FL) marking at or above the flood level of the sink or drainboard, whichever is higher.

Jim You're partially right but technically they didn't become "manufactured homes" until 1980 when they amended the MHCSS and changed the wording throughout. http://uscode.regstoday.com/42USC_CHAPT ... #42USC5401 TITLE 42-THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE, CHAPTER 70-MANUFACTURED HOME CONSTRUCTION AND SAFETY STANDARDS, Sec. 5402. Definitions AMENDMENTS 1980 - Pars. (1), (2), (3). Pub. L. 96-399, Sec. 308©(4), substituted "manufactured home" for "mobile home" wherever appearing. Par. (6). Pub. L. 96-399, Sec. 308©(4), (d), substituted "manufactured home" for "mobile home", substituted "in the traveling mode, is eight body feet or more in width or forty body feet or more in length, or, when erected on site, is three hundred twenty or more square feet" for "is eight body feet or more in width and is thirty-two body feet or more in length", and inserted exception relating to inclusion of any structure meeting all requirements of this paragraph except size and with respect to which a certification is voluntarily filed and standards complied with. Pars. (7), (, (10). Pub. L. 96-399, Sec. 308©(4), substituted "manufactured home" for "mobile home" wherever appearing.

Mike As far as I know Hardi didn't change every year but they did change a lot that's why you see different months on the installation installations. I would use 12-05 for 2006, the next ones I have are 02-07 for plank and panel, only fourteen months apart.

Marc Thanks, I didn't pay attention Pete

Code cite 4 painting plastic vent pipe above roof
patt replied to David Meiland's topic in Plumbing Forum
The requirement in the Uniform Plumbing Code is not in the code itself but in Appendix I "Installation Standards". How far back it goes I don't know. It's in both the 2000 and 2009 as those were the editions that CA adopted. Installation Standard For ABS BUILDING DRAIN, WASTE, AND VENT PIPE AND FITTINGS IAPMO IS 5-2003 2.2.3 Exposed Piping Piping shall not be exposed to direct sunlight. Exception: Vent piping through roof. Plumbing vents through roof, exposed to sunlight, shall be protected by water base synthetic latex paints. Adequate support shall be provided where ABS piping is exposed to wind, snow, and ice loading. Installation Standard For PVC BUILDING DRAIN, WASTE AND VENT PIPE AND FITTINGS IAPMO IS 9-2003 2.3.3 Exposed Piping Piping shall not be exposed to direct sunlight. Exception: Vent piping through roof. Plumbing vents through roof, exposed to sunlight, shall be protected by water base synthetic latex paints. Adequate support shall be provided where PVC piping is exposed to wind, snow and ice loading As a side note in the "Dwelling Requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1997" they don't list Appendix I. -
That's a Noritz heater, http://www.noritz.com/homeowners/produc ... ntial_use/ Technical info here http://support.noritz.com/technical-literature.php The venting installation is ok per manual. Download Attachment: Noritz 09 pg 10 installation_manual_nr66_nr71_series.pdf 57.04?KB On that model the upper opening (exhaust opening) on the face of the cabinet is the giveaway that that is an outdoor model only, some models that have the exhaust on top are indoor/outdoor.
