  1. A bit of thread drift, if you don't mind. I have three single daughters over the age of 23. My middle daughter just called and told me she was engaged. Her boyfriend called me last week to ask permission for her hand in marriage. I have now cried twice in the last week. . .
  2. Still pissed, eh?
  3. If your using the UltraFire 18650 batteries, I just found out they don't slowly die; they die a sudden death. After perusing the CandlePower forums, the consensus is those batteries suck, and most prefer the longer lasting TrustFire 18650 batteries. I ordered two on-line from a company in China, paid under nine bucks which includes shipping, and received by mail in less than a week. They work fine & dandy, and fit the UltraFire charger. http://www.bestofferbuy.com

  5. No. Was wondering; would periodically running hot water into a sewer discourage tree roots from busting into the pipes seeking water in drought conditions? There was a huge tree above the line (and I did recommend scoping), but can't see how/if they might be related. For me, it's a head-scratcher. I swear someone else saw this set-up once and asked about it here. . .
  6. I actually don't think I'm the first to ask about this. Regardless: Down in a crawl space, someone tapped a saddle-valve into a copper hot water supply pipe, ran a 1/4" flex copper line off the valve, ran the end of the copper line into a 1/4" pvc water pipe, and tied the end of the pvc pipe directly into the main sanitary sewer line, right where the pvc sewer line went down into the crawl space soil floor. FYI. . .house was served by the municipal sanitary sewer system. Why would someone want to run hot water into the sewer? Thanks much for any insight.
  7. That's a la Yogi Berra, right?
  8. Feeds to a cistern would be my guess.
  9. I don't think you'd really tell anyone that.
  10. Trouble maker. Shouldn't you be in Iraq or somethin'. . . Robert - why do Wisconsin couples do it doggie-style? So they can both watch the Packer game.
  11. I could never understand how such is different from blessing items during the original inspection. . .
  12. Like you, I call it honeycombing. Lack of vibrator probably why it was mixed with a *hoe*.
  13. Hey Bruce, Yeah, four. . .that's why I underlined *one* condition. . . And, yep, I don't want a kid killed by glass shards. You wouldn't comment in the report? Okie-dokie. Me? I'm gonna document.

  15. I probably got this wrong, but one of things that says a low-to-the-floor window pane requires safety-glazing is if the pane has an area greater than nine square feet. Assuming that's right. . . I saw some 33" by 35" low windows the other day (<10" above the floor), and the muntin bars were not installed. Without the muntins, the panes looked HUGE. My client has toddlers. I recommended changing the glass to tempered glass, regardless of any rules or guidelines. Any thoughts/comments?

  17. Did you then pivot to the right and thrust your epee into her chest? Sorry. . .like Kurt, I sometimes can't help myself.
  18. I thought they just banned light bulbs in EasyBake ovens. This the one you got a couple years ago?
  19. Those sure look like proud nails.
  20. Saw this on another HI forum. Just ordered mine. https://squareup.com/
  21. On the roof, as your foot protrudes through the drywall below. Look for and report obvious lack of ventilation, and feel for soft spots in the roof decking. In case you've never seen this, it makes for a good read: Download Attachment: HotRoofCold Roof.pdf 331.47 KB
  22. Cupola.
  23. Drain tiles are set level/in-line with the footers; setting them below the footers would be asking for this kind of trouble. Soil, at least around here, tends not to defy gravity and migrate/erode "up" into the drain tiles from below the footers.
  24. Any rust stains? Re-bar getting wet, corroding, expanding. . .
