John Kogel
I can guess Corian, but would like to know for sure. Anybody? Click to Enlarge 34.1 KB Click to Enlarge 40.32 KB
Steven Hockstein
Looks like plastic to me. Similar to Corian material.
Mark P
Look like the same sink I have, bought at lowes. It is some form of hard plastic, like corian I guess. The color is not just on the surface of the material but all the way through. If a teenage boy throws a cermanic bowl in the sink out of anger both the sink and the bowl will shatter. gtblum
Looks like a granite composite sink. If it is, Mr. Perry is correct. It will shatter. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news ... /index.htm
Mark P
And when I say shatter, I don't mean it cracked - it shattered into numerous pieces and pretty much the entire bottom of the sink was gone. Of course I don't blame the sink, I don't expect it to withstand such forces. I like the sink and replaced it with the same sink - I have no complaints, except with my son. John Kogel
I went with 'composite' which came up in a google search as well, thanks, Gary. That made two hits for composite and composite is a nebulous word I can use for a lot of things. 'Composite' needs to be stored away for future use. And I considered 'man-made composite'. But stainless steel is also man-made, as is enameled cast iron and porcelain, come to think of it. In fact, they are all composite materials, too. ?? [] Sorry to hear about your sink hole, Mark. The teens can be rough on houses for sure.

I'll trade you a sink for 3 wooden 4x4 mailbox post and mailboxes! On his way to school, my son took out 3 in a row last week on our street when a spider decided to drop out of the sun visor and on to his chest!
