  1. Yes Tom, J Channel. Somebody's done covered most of the structure with vinyl siding. Here's a closer view of the outside of the turret and gable. The turret still has the original fish scale siding. Click to Enlarge 35.46 KB It's a welcoming place. The gate has been open so long the tree grew around parts of it. 3. Attempting? I think they succeeded very well!
  4. Cause you love it, Roy, cause you love it.
  5. I see two issues with photo 24. 1. It doesn't show the complete box so I can't review it accurately. 2. The white wire on the top left breaker isn't marked properly. It'd be easier for us to provide meaningful feedback if you unsecured this particular report so we could copy and paste the section we were referring to with our commentary. By the way, Adobe isn't all that hard to crack to make changes to the original. I guess I just prefer the (as Kurt so aptly put it) "short bursts of info with visual reinforcement." See photo below. 6. Wouldn't let me copy and paste but read the first sentence under Insulation and Ventilation. Out to think about getting a system that lets you put the photo right next to the comment.
  7. Any pictures of the outside near these two areas. What about liberal application of water on the floor during mopping getting soaked up into that trim. Was WRB behind the vinyl?
  8. Math, ugh. Making my brain hurt!
  9. Yup, it's good to be "more sure first"!
  10. For accuracy, shouldn't it be ON the shingles.
  11. Better get a pan. All y'alls sarcasm is dripping!
  12. or a 2x4 with 16 penny nails through it, drop the nails through the cracks between the deck boards. Though I think I like the web straps better.

  15. Bummer, you got a good school right there in Leavenworth. http://www.midwestinsp.com/ Standard one week or alternative for those who can't take a week! And Tom FEEDS you good! It's where I went many years ago. Download a trial of HomeGauge Software and try it. It's what I chose. Might also download a trail of InspectExpress and try it. I haven't but know some on here use it. Search the forums here. There's several reviews and discussions on the different softrware available.
  16. Ya gotta tell them something! I use: ===================== COMMENT KEY & DEFINITIONS: The following definitions of comment descriptions apply to this inspection report. All comments by the inspector should be considered before purchasing this home. Any recommendations I make to "repair" or "replace" or "fix" means you should consult with a professional in the appropriate field to determine all needed repairs and best repair method, to estimate costs and to perform any repairs deemed necessary. All costs associated with further inspection fees and repair or replacement of items, components or units should be considered before you purchase the property. All directions are given as if the house is being viewed from the front looking at the front. NOTE: All definitions listed below refer to the property or item listed in this report as inspected at the time of inspection. Acceptable (A) = I visually observed the item, component or unit and if no other comments were made then it appeared to be functioning and installed as the manufacturer intended, allowing for normal wear and tear. Not Inspected (NI) = I did not inspect this item, component or unit and make no representations of whether or not it was functioning as the manufacturer intended and will state a reason for not inspecting the item. Maintenance (Mnt) = Item noted is usually considered a routine maintenance item that must be accomplished occasionally to ensure proper performance of the equipment or item. Marginal (M) = Item is not fully functional and requires repair or servicing by a qualified contractor in the appropriate field. Defective (D) = Item needs immediate repair or replacement by a qualified contractor in the appropriate field. It is unable to perform its intended function or is an immediate safety hazard. Please be sure to read and understand the complete report along with all of the other attachments listed. They contain valuable information that pertains to this inspection and the maintenance of your new home. You paid for the report and its attachments. Please read them! ================ Does anybody read it. Hell, I don't know.
  17. In my Inspection Agreement: ==================== B4U Close Home Inspections does not research product recalls or notices of any kind. A basic home inspection does not include the identification of, or research for, appliances and other items installed in the home that may be recalled or have a consumer safety alert issued about it. Any comments made in the report are regarding well known notices and are provided as a courtesy only. Product recalls and consumer product safety alerts are added almost daily. We recommend visiting the following internet site if recalls are a concern to you. www.cpsc.gov ====================
  18. This general in the Foreign Legion is transferred to a new fort, and half way through his tour of the place, he spots a mangey old camel tied up at the back of the fort. He turns to the corporal: "What in God's name do you use that for?", he asks. The corporal replies "Well, sir, there are a lot of men, and now and then, they become, shall we say, horny...." "Ah, yes, yes, I understand. Fine, move on" About 6 weeks later, the general wakes up feeling so horny, he'd get up on the crack of dawn and calls the corporal. "Bring me to the camel" says he. The corporal does, and once at the camel, he makes it stand up, and places a stool behind it. With that, the general stands on the stool, takes out Mr Floppy and inserts it into the camel. He then proceeds to give it the ride of its life. Having finished, he puts away his equipment, and looks proudly at the corporal. "Well", he says, "is that the way you men do it around here?" "Er...no, sir", replies the corporal, "We normally just use the camel to ride to the nearest brothel." [:-monkeyd[:-monkeyd[:-monkeyd
  19. Spent a few days in Chicago several years ago. Had a great time meeting and discussing stuff with all the other inspectors there. Well worth the loss of income. After all, who wants to work EVERY day!
  20. Scott: Are they putting in a chair lift to get back up from the water?
  21. I guess it's just too cold around here. I don't see many exterior sinks.
  22. I don't find it odd that a cable guy would drill a hole like that but do find it strange that he'd go ahead and run his cable through it also.
  23. Since when did we breed profile? Though I note I think it's kind of low down for a German Shepherd.

    Happy Roof

Good comp but it looks more like a water tower.
  25. Used one frequently but I usually clamp it to the side that is not going to fall when the cut is made.
