  1. Well, I've looked at it now. While all the ones I watched said call RadaLink if you have questions, the next (last) shot about scheduling your inspection now have the individual affiliates phone number as the last shot. Of course, the spelling and punctuation would need correction before I'd use it. I'll have to ask if I can get it on my channel instead of theirs. Guess I need to e-mail Terry.
  2. There will always be those who: Write simple, easy to understand, declarative sentences Use big words because they think the words make them sound smart Who can't use big or simple words in the manner intended. Who still hand write their reports on yellow legal tablets. Ad Infinitum Fortunately, we each get to choose which we are and we can change, when we want to. Differences exist for a reason. Market them. It pays.
  3. Not responsible for advice given but not followed. Does the term CYAWP sound familiar?
  4. Sure. The combustion condensate that gets trapped keeps combustion gasses, that manage to get past the trap, from coming back into the house. [:-monkeyd[:-monkeyd[:-monkeyd
  5. Funny Ezra. All I see for spacing to another fixture is (2010): Sec. 49-637. Space requirement for nonhandicapped plumbing fixtures. The following are minimum clearances: (a) Water closets: (4) There shall be a minimum of four (4) inches between a water closet and a lavatory. (See figure 637(a)(5))

    what gives?

Shingles installed using the racking method. Bends the corners every time. Too late to do much about it until it warms up. Then you can TRY sealing the corners down. 7. It's a crappy sentence anyway, John. Thanks Jim. Another tool for self improvement.

  9. I thought that was what the "For Sale or Swap" forum was for. Us to get rid of stuff. As long as it ain't some yahoo from outside, no problem. And, as Kurt said, "this stuff is so darn cool"
  10. Glad to hear you're getting better. Injuries are scary things. On the flashing: You should have this flashing installed BEFORE the vinyl and J-Channel. You should be able to see the edge of the flashing hanging over the door top under the J-Channel. Click to Enlarge 18.23?KB Taking a second look at the picture, is that vinyl siding or cement fiber siding. Looks more like cement fiber siding with the door trim installed on top of it. Still don't mater. Should look similar. Click to Enlarge 36.36?KB Bet the majority of the water is coming in right here at the red arrow. Click to Enlarge 31.38?KB

  12. It wasn't a stupid design when they did it. The window was the ventilation. Didn't have bath fans back then.
  13. See it on a lot of older homes that were built before showers came around and then a shower was added. It was cool when it was just a bathtub under a window. Not so cool when you start spraying water all over it from the shower.
  14. Anybody have a good authoritative reference for this. Click to Enlarge 95.06?KB Click to Enlarge 88.81?KB Appraiser noted it requesting a structural engineer review. Bank is going along with it. I'm looking for a good authoritative reference (cause and effect) that the bank might accept in lieu of a $400 structural engineer. -

  16. Now that's funny, Jim.
  17. Perhaps the owner changed it without knowing what he was doing. May not be hooked up correctly. Never seen a switched one like that without a marked em heat mode. Though I've seen some of the digitals that don't have a readily visible em heat mode. Had to push a couple of buttons at the same time to get it to switch.
  18. I bid $850, Dan with lab fees plus 25%. And I'll throw in a condensor to turn that vapor into real water. [:-monkeyd[:-monkeyd[:-monkeyd Glad to see that winky thingy there. Tell's me you got a sense of humor.
  19. Now there's an idea, Mike. Hope someone tries it. My RadaLink monitor already has tamper detection on it. And a couple of times tests were invalidated. Marc: she CAN ethically represent both clients. She just CAN'T DO HER BEST for either one. Whether she'll BE ethical is a different question. Never understand how buyers don't get the issue with those double enders. Ezra: Be aware that there are some steel doors with windows that comply with fire rating requirements.
  20. They do allow duct tape here, but ONLY on vertical plumbing repairs. Click to Enlarge 44.73?KB
  21. I've seen several of those two sided fireplaces around here installed in the wall between the master bedroom and the master bathroom with the fireplace right at the end of the soaker tub. While the ones I've seen had the flame elevated above the level of the tub, I'd suggest that your best source of information is to contact the manufacturer directly and ask them.

  23. Perhaps, at a minimum, you should consider covering the exposed dirt with a vapor barrier.
