Jim Morrison
Hey, It's been awhile. I don't know how many brothers and sisters here might've met Charlie, but I'm sorry to say he died yesterday at noon after a long illness. I posted something about it here, if you're interested: https://www.facebook.com/jim.morrison.127/posts/pfbid02t9jFQKDWLrg99QNZCohDJgXFkyUfMyNcFRfFiDaxrYP8vaksoL158jdPCQEa1TiLl Hope you're all well, Jimmy
Bill Kibbel
Heard about him many times. Sorry to have never met. Didn't know he was in VA - we had a place not far from Waynesboro. You wrote a wonderful tribute. Sorry you lost such a great partner and friend.
Chad Fabry
I met Charlie at Jim's wedding. I don't remember anything specific except his smile and that he was fun, funny, and gracious. What a nice tribute to a good friend. Proof of a life well-lived.
Les
nice tribute. Indagators brought back some memories. a loss for sure. Made me go back to some of the stuff you wrote back then. Still resonates . https://www.banderasnews.com/profiles/jim-morrison.htm
Jim Morrison
I searched Charlie's name on this site for a few lines to send his widow, his sister and his daughter, who understandably didn't know much about his professional life. The finest comment on it came from SonOfSwamp, better known to TIJ silverbacks as the late Walter Jowers. He wrote, "I know Charlie Wood. If Charlie tells you a pissant can pull a plow, hitch up that pissant." Thanks, guys. 1

Jim Katen
Thanks for posting this, Jim. I'm very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He died much too young. I recall a lively evening with the two of you in Puerto Vallarta. Charlie was in fine form and among the many stories he told was one of my favorites about "preservativos."
Jim Morrison
I remember that evening as well, Jim, and that story is one of my most very favorites. It was also the only time you and I ever met in real life, I believe. Weren't we at the marina?
Jim Katen
I think we started out at the marina and ended up at a bar somewhere. Surely we met at one or more InspectionWorlds?
Jim Morrison
We might've dined at the same table a time or two, but those were big tables filled with big personalities and I mostly concentrated on listening. Vallarta was the first time I remember meeting and speaking with the author of one of my favorite columns: "Ask Auntie Jim." Glad to see so many of you OGs are still at it, Jimmy
