  1. Defrost water is not even entering the defrost-water tube.. some little glitch or blockage where the tube connects to defrost-drain... Thanks everyone..

  3. I have a call out to a tech, b ut before he comes, I was wondering if any of you know about this--- 2 year old Whirlpool fridge, water has been dripping into 'pan' at lower freezer area and freezing ... a lot of water... Any thoughts??
  4. Worst thing I ran into a was a yellow jacket nest.. AFTER I had suited-up and entered a narrow cellar-window-sized opening... that was not fun... Tyvek prevented the stings.. but the bruise I got on the way out... ouch.. !

  7. Not that old... see these all the time... amen to all the above.. I'd have checked the boiler aquastat 'set temp' vs the 'gauge' temp... looks like the boiler might be kind of small for the load?? These are usually set to run at 180 Deg F (and this gauge says that.. which would be good).. but what is the 'set temp'? The pressure-reading may just be a faulty gauge.. I tap those a few times..often,, it will change right in front of your eyes.. No thimble at the chimney breech area... huge expansion tank.. was this a huge house Erby??? Those older larger-diameter distribution pipes impose a substantial load.. especially likely being un-insulated pipes...
  8. Pretty sure this is the first type of phone I could remember... we had a party-line.. 1950's... Phone co was "New England Telephone" and of course had that 'Bell System' logo on the side... brown trucks, gold lettering...   10. An old bedspring in an attic will make a Fluke tester go off if you put it within the spring-coils.... you have to triple-check with those.. I use them all the time but I know the limitations.... you 'do what you can' ... but mention the limitations..

  21. That's what my long Sears pry-bar handle is for.. 'sounding' the slab to see if there is settlement beneath it.. Looks like gravel below it settled...?
  22. Water quality seems to come into play... the 'yellow' brass I see around here is usually never in good shape.. the red brass does tend to stand up better...
  23. I was checking a short-sale house the other day.. grabbed a glass to try the fridge ice-maker... pushed the button.. out came two dry tea bags... You gotta love it..
