John Kogel
I'm not sure who this guy is but I bet he has military service experience. Maybe Vietnam. I'd say that guy is too young to have flown in Vietnam, but he learned his trade flying Cedar shake blocks out to the road somewhere up the BC Coast. This guy is exceptional though, very precise. There are still a few shake blocks. The big giant cedars are on a hillside somewhere with second or third growth young trees all around them. So the logs get cut and split and stacked up on a rope sling. Then one day the chopper hotshot comes and flies the slings to a landing on the road. Young guys mostly. The guys that cut the blocks run around like crazy for a half a day, hooking up those slings.
