Its too intimidating here. The young folks don't feel comfortable asking simple questions of much more accomplished inspectors. They fear a gauntlet coming.

I quit this message board twice on account of that gauntlet. Stuck with it on the third try, Nov '09.

I have learned a lot here and have endured a few slings and arrows.  After I got saddled with zoning on an AHJ gig I joined a planners forum that has been a big help for me in offering my two cents to local officialdom.

I check in once in a while. It's always nice to see the people who helped me so much in the past. The 4 year long inventory shortage changed the nature of my business from home inspections to construction defect litigation support. Home inspections represent less than 20% of my revenue these days. 

The lack of skilled workers and unethical builders keep me busy.

I check in early AM and late PM most days.  I like playing the whack-a-spam game. Just whacked another one from Pakistan now.
